Students pushback on e-textbooks

Postby cheap-textbooks » Mon Aug 27, 2012 6:55 pm

While a few varsities across the nation are pushing electronic textbooks, touting them as better and less unwieldy than regular textbooks, scholars are unwilling. E-textbooks still account for only nine percent of textbook purchases, asserts Student Monitor, which researches varsity student behaviour. Usually scholars don't save much when making a choice to buy an e-textbook.

For instance, an organic chemistry e-textbook costs $100, while the print version of the same book costs just $15 more.
